We are a non-profit organization that was formed to honor the life of Private Joe E. Mann and all of the Veterans from the Reardan area. We are working to raise money to create a memorial park that will tell Joe’s story of how, during WWII, he parachuted into Holland with the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” to aid in the liberation of Holland.
Through donations made from community members, business sponsors and special contributors we will commence with a phased construction model to build a public space that honors our local Heroes. There will be a community amphitheater, a walkway with the names of the area’s veterans, a water feature and an eternal flame in a park-like atmosphere. The landscaping will create a quiet, reverent and spiritual area where visitors can pause to remember and pay their respects to the men and women of the area that have given their service and often lives for our freedom.
How You Can Help
It is the organizations hope to involve many local Veterans, Veterans groups, Veteran owned businesses, community members, the school community and local government in the completion of our memorial project. Our goal is to have this project started by the fall of 2021, which would be the 77th anniversary of the death of PVT Joe E. Mann.
